유쾌한 실험꾼

블루메미술관 상설기획전은 소장품을 기획전시의 맥락과 연결하여 재해석하는 형식을 띤다. 전시 <유쾌한 실험꾼>은 소장품 중 백남준의 판화 작품과 나란히 헤이리마을 내 빈티지 가구 편집샵 GUVS의 협력으로 에토레 소트사스의 빈티지 의자를 선보인다. 백남준에게 판화가 예술과 세상의 소통을 가능케 하는 미디어였다면, 소트사스는 자신의 가구가 사람들로 하여금 외로움이나 불행에 대처할 수 있는 도구가 되기를 희망했다. 이번 전시는 복수성을 기반으로 하는 매체인 판화와 가구를 연결하며, 백남준과 소트사스의 탐색적이며 심미적인 태도를 <같이 쓰는 농부사전> 중 ‘연구자로서의 농부 - 자연을 탐구하는 삶’에 빗대어 본다.

Our museum’s special permanent exhibition takes on a format that reinterprets its collection in connection with the context of the current exhibition. This special exhibition, Witty Experimenter, presents Nam June Paik's print works from our collection alongside vintage chairs by Ettore Sottsass in collaboration with vintage furniture shop, GUVS, located in Heyri Art Village. For Nam June Paik, printmaking was a medium that enabled communication between art and the world. Meanwhile, Sottsass hoped that his furniture would serve as a tool for people to cope with loneliness and unhappiness. This exhibition aims not only to highlight the humor-filled artistic worlds of these two artists but also to appreciate their defiant spirit in exploring the meaning of art.
