웰컴 가든

자연을 향한 블루메미술관의 철학은 길가의 나무를 살려 미술관을 지은 백순실 화가의 바이오필리아와 그녀의 오래된 정원에서 비롯하였습니다. 대지를 캔버스 삼아 식물의 텍스쳐와 색들로 채워가는 미술관의 정원사 백순실 작가가 맞이하는 웰컴정원은 여러해살이 초화류들이 육중한 콘크리트 덩어리를 부드럽게 풀어줍니다. 긴 곡선의 콘크리트 벽면이 만들어내는 빛 그림자 아래 피고지며 깊이를 더해가는 파사드 가든을 따라 올라오다보면 가장 먼저 봄을 알리는 구근식물들과여름을 물들이는 능소화, 가을을 밝히는 추명국 가든으로 이어져 미술관 입구에 다다르게 됩니다. 자연의 질서를 따르는 식물들이 먼저 미술관을 찾는 이들을 맞이하며 그들이 갖는 기대와 준비, 그리고 여운의 시간을 품어주는 정원 공간입니다

Welcome Garden

The philosophy of the museum has derived from painter BAIK Soon Shil’s biophilia and her garden. As the museum’s gardener, Baik filled the spaces with the textures and colors of plants. In this Welcome Garden she has cultivated, a diversity of perennial plants and flowers release the tension retained in the mute, massive concrete. When moving along the facade garden under the shadow of the museum’s long curved wall, one can reach a garden of bulbous plants heralding the arrival of spring, trumpet creepers that flourish in summer, anemone that brighten in autumn, and then arrive at the museum entrance. This is a garden space where plants following nature’s order welcome visitors to the museum and offer them a time of expectation, preparation, and relaxation.
